Can members of the public use the Library?
The Library is open for use by members of the public for reference purposes only. Members of the public are not allowed to borrow materials from the library but can come in and utilise the resources available.

What is the scope of the library’s collection?
The Library provides general information in the following key areas:

What are the Library’s hours of service?
The Library is open to the public Mondays to Thursdays from 8:00am to 4:15pm and on Fridays from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Does the Library offer free wifi access?
At the moment, the Library does not provide wifi access but our patrons can utilise our Public Access Computer systems for research purposes.
Does the Library provide photocopies of resources?
Whilst the Library does provide photocopies of resources, users are encouraged to walk with flash drives to assist in transfer/saving of materials.
Is there a limit on how much can be reproduced/copied from the Library’s resources?
Reproduction/copying of library materials is done in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Copyright Act of Trinidad and Tobago; Chapter 82:80.
Does the Library have a webopac (Web Online Public Access)?
The Library’s webopac is available only to staff at the Ministry through the Ministry’s intranet via http://library//
Does the Library provide Industrial Court judgements?
Industrial Court judgments are available for use by the staff of the Ministry. However, members of the public requiring Court Judgments are kindly asked to contact the Industrial Court Library at 225-4288.
Does the Library provide advice on industrial relations/employment issues?
Members of the public seeking advice on employment issues are asked to contact the Conciliation Department at exts: 2043/2044/2124.
Does the Library accept donations of books & other materials to add to its collection?
We are always happy to obtain materials that pertain to the core subject areas in the Library. However all donations of materials should be directed to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development. Acceptance of these materials may be based on physical condition, relevancy and currency of the materials being donated.
Is parking available at the Library?
Unfortunately, parking is not available at the library. However users can obtain paid parking facilities at nearby locations.
Where is the Library located?
The Library Unit of the Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development is located at Level 5, 50-54 Duke Street, Port of Spain.
Can confidential materials e.g. Cabinet Minutes etc. be obtained through the Library?
All requests for materials that are deemed confidential must be directed in writing to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development.
